The Foodie Feast at CMV
Casa Mira View (CMV) is the largest luxury apartment community in San Diego, CA with over 2,000 units and counting. In 2022, when the Community Manager, Elca Perez gave Desiree the task to bring a convenient attraction to the property, Desiree began creating a plan to implement a multi-culinary weekly ‘Foodie Feast’ where residents would have the opportunity to try out some of the best food trucks and pop-ups in the San Diego region. Two years later, the Foodie Feast is still going strong every Monday and Wednesday (and now Saturdays) due to it’s popularity!
With an understanding of our close competitors competing on price and basic amenities like swimming pools and fitness centers, Desiree created the Foodie Feast to help residents and their families decrease fees on apps like UberEats and enjoy great food inspired by signature dishes all over the world. Since inception, the Foodie Feast has brought in thousands of dollars for multiple participating businesses stimulating the small business market for entrepreneurs in the food business in San Diego, CA.
CO-VID 19 affected many restaurants where they had to shift to the use of food trucks and pop-up set ups to keep their doors from closing. The strategic coordination and implementation of marketing and operational tactics that Desiree implements on a monthly basis gives these vendors an opportunity to reach new customers, highlight new dishes, and expand their overall business. Many residents over the years have expressed their gratitude for the diversity of different cuisines and the convenience it brings to the community. Elca, the Community Manager has mentioned that it has become like a new amenity which has increased the value of the property in comparison to other luxury communities in San Diego, CA.

A custom flyer is created every month that features photos of signature dishes, the schedule, and the logos of the food vendors. This is distributed in the communities’ elevators, e-blasts, and in the leasing office.
-
Custom emails are created weekly to remind our residents about what’s coming up for the upcoming week. Desiree creates the copy for the email as well includes additional graphics to encourage purchases.
-
Desiree has created a strategy to manage scheduling, promotion, and the development of the ongoing feast and has gained the interest of CMV’s sister properties - La Jolla Crossroads, Costa Verde Village, Torrey Gardens, and 360 Luxury Apartments. She also conducts quarterly surveys to find out what resident’s are looking forward to as the Foodie Feast grows.
-
Desiree has built healthy and successful relationships with 30+ food vendors and have created a sense of trust between them. Vendors who started with the Foodie Feast two years ago are still in rotation and doing well. They receive marketing tips, materials, etc.
-
Desiree also handles day of coordination of the Foodie Feast which includes placing A-Frames strategically throughout the community to advertise the event to both those who are driving into the community and for foot traffic. She ensures that the vendors are prepared as they arrive to the community. She also conducts a follow up with the vendor for improvement purposes.
