Why You Shouldn’t Buy Followers

As you can see, you already know our stance on buying followers by the title of this post.

However, we wanted to cover this topic for those who are new to digital branding and the social media sphere looks a little intimidating to you. Don’t worry, there’s are several ways to grow your channels organically. Here are some reasons why you shouldn’t pay for followers by any means necessary.

  1. It’s against the many platforms Terms of Use. Paying for followers for one is against the Terms of Use on many platforms. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to name a few are a few companies that flag accounts who purchase followers looking for a quick come up on reach and engagement. Using a company to buy followers will get your account flagged and in some cases disabled.

  2. There’s no point. What we mean is that when you purchase followers from companies, they usually are fake accounts and warrant no real engagement. Think quality over quantity. I read somewhere that it is better to have 100 engaged followers who truly like your content than to have 1,000 followers who don’t really exist.

Two better options:

  1. Using a growth marketing service. Leveraging a good growth marketing service will help with boosting the engagement that you are looking for on your social media accounts. What makes these companies different is they use organic strategies to help your content get in front of the right people which can persuade people to follow. Companies that are legit will say they use organic strategies to grow your accounts, and use some sort of technology to do the work some people do manually which saves you time. We are currently considering a few different growth marketing services to help our clients grow their accounts organically.

  2. Reverse engineering a growth marketing tool and engaging manually. Although this may be time-consuming, this is still a safe way to grow your accounts under the terms of use of any platform. As I mentioned before, services that are legit will express their process of gaining reach and engagement. You can set some time aside every day (for maybe about an hour) and engage accounts that are similar to yours with a like or comment.

If you purchase one of our social media management packages, we will suggest one of our growth marketing partners to do this work automatically so that we can focus on creating great content. To check out our packages, click the tab in the menu that says, ‘social media management’. Looking forward to working with you in the near future!
